RESIDENTS INVITED TO JOIN WALTON FRIENDSHIP CAFÉ
A FRIENDSHIP and bereavement café is inviting residents to join weekly sessions to bring the community together and combat loneliness.
Community Voluntary Services Tendring (CVST) runs the Walton Friendship and Bereavement Café every Wednesday at the Columbine Centre, Prince’s Esplanade, Walton-on-the-Naze.
This weekly café allows people to meet others and enjoy activities and days out, such as games, quizzes, guest speakers and more.
Tracy Lawrie, communities manager at CVST said: “The Walton Friendship and Bereavement Café is a great place to meet other residents for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat.
“Many of the residents that attend the sessions every Wednesday enjoy playing different games, taking part in quizzes, and listening to guest speakers together.
“We’d love to welcome more members of the community to join us.
“The whole idea of our friendship cafes across Tendring is to create a welcoming space for residents to come and meet others.
“We know that so many people live alone and spend a huge amount of their time alone, which can have a negative impact on their health and wellbeing.
“Friendship cafes are a great way to combat loneliness in our communities.”
